Is it okay for me to sleep in the same bed as my brother sometimes?

I'm a fifteen year old girl and my brother is seventeen. We're really close, kind of like best friends.
When I'm crying or upset, I'll get into the same bed as him and he'll comfort me while we cuddle. Then we'll fall asleep in the same bed.
My friend found out and said he thought it was really weird for siblings to do, even though we don't mean for it to be sexual or anything gross.
What's your opinion on this? Is it okay for me to cuddle with my brother in bed when I'm upset, or is it too weird?

Your intentions are pure enough, but the problem is this: That kind of closeness gives way to a feeling of "intimacy" between two people. It's very possible to remain platonic in situations like these but after awhile something more can develop.



Basically, it may be innocent now, but in time, you two may begin to see each other as something more (if one or both do not already), and you're only tempting yourselves to go further.



If you honestly do not want your relationship with each other to get damaged, then it's probably best to avoid the temptation (I'm not saying you shouldn't still go to him when you're upset, but I'd try to refrain from the intimacy of sharing ones bed).

I am sorry, but I do find this a little weird.



It is great that you have a sibling that you are close to, and trust enough to talk to. But cuddling and falling asleep in bed, that's maybe a line that you shouldn't cross. Maybe next time you are upset you guys could watch a movie and eat fattening ice cream together.

He's you're brother so it is okay as long as nothing incest happens.Siblings are supposed to look out for each other so in my eyes it's okay for him to comfort you when you're upset.

I think its fine as long as nothing bad happens he is your older brother he should be there to comfort you when you are sad or scared

its kinda odd, yeah i wouldn't do that too much. especiall if your brother, being a

red blooded male, starts feelings things. just be extremely careful but next time you're

upset just call a friend:)
