For the last couple weeks my dad has been staying with us after having an operation, and he's expected to stay at least until the end of this month. A few days ago he started complaining about our rooster and how he keeps being woken up at early hours. He has now started planning to kill the rooster. I really don't know what to do. Any advice?

Get him some earplugs, the moldable swimmer's kind as they're much comfier than the push in your ear kind. Tell dad that if anything happens to the rooster he will be staying at a motel until he can journey home. If you really think that he'll follow through rehouse the rooster with someone else if possible until your dad returns home. If he does kill the rooster cancel his participation in Thanksgiving and Christmas this year and tell him that actions have consequences.

But its not yours. You are a CHILD therefore you can't own it. Since you can't own it there's nothing you can do. Since it has no purpose what so ever and all it does is make noise so there's no reason to have it around.

If he was breeding chickens and needed a rooster around then it would have a purpose.

I think it goes like this, "Dad you keep your damn hands off my rooster."

Do you have any idea what could happen? Go to You Tube, look up "The Jack Benny Program: Guest Star Raymond Burr, 12th Season." Jack Benny is put on trial, and faces the death penalty for murdering a rooster.

Simple...tell him to keep his hands off your property! He is not the "king" of YOUR castle and has no authority there! He should be grateful that you're helping him out, not threatening to kill your rooster! I know he's your dad, but you have to put your foot down...I would!

If you kill it first, then your dad's plans will be foiled.
