What is your definition of a big family?

What kind of family do you think of when the words "big family" are mentioned?

Did you grow up in a big family?

Do you want to have a big family in the future?

How many kids do you have now?

My husband and I decided, after we got married, that we wanted to have a big family. Fifteen years later we now have nine biological children (six births). Our eldest is fifteen years old, while the youngest ones are four months old. We consider ourselves a big family.

Thank You all for sharing your opinions with me!

A big family to me is any family with more than 3 kids. I didn't grow up in a big family, and I don't have any kids (and don't want any).

I think it's personally irresponsible to have more than two children, and nine kids is just way too many. The world is overpopulated, and we're relying more and more on genetically enhanced food just so we have enough to feed everyone at a reasonable price. And we're only just beginning to learn about how sick GMO food makes us.

Have less kids, and improve the quality of living for everyone in the world. It's not rocket science.

Anymore than 3 kids seems like a lot to me, as far as what the average couple can support financially. But even one kid it going to put a huge damper on funds.
