How do I deal with my sister being back?

Hi.
Well basically the problem is, my sister left over 3 years ago to a foreign country.
We used to be reeeeally close before she left, but since then we've only been in contact via an occasional phonecall. (I'm 16 she's 24).
She came back yesterday (for a week)....and I just don't have anything to say?..
I feel like I should be happy but I'm really NERVOUS around her?? I feel like she doesn't like me any more or really know who I am.
She's still treating me like I'm 13 and didn't want me to come out with her and my other siblings tonight, so I stayed home.
Why do I feel so weird? Is it always like this when somebody comes back after a long absence? I'm so sad..it's like I imagined it to be some wonderful reunification but she doesn't seem interested in me at all. =(
What should I do?

. That sounds like a bummer they went out without you but maybe they went somewhere 21 and older? In some countries they go party and stay out pretty late ( Spain, Argentina, France) so she may be used to a different lifestyle now.



Plus she just got back, she may seem distracted and is adjusting herself. You have more time to catch up with her. Just do your normal routine and look for an opening. Maybe ask if she needs help with anything since she just got back. Reunions can be awkward. Find something you can do together.

A good heartfelt talk sounds like a great way to rekindle the sister union between her and yourself. Ask her if you two can do lunch or if she has Time to help you with your hair, Or perhaps her opinion on an outfit, these open lines can get a conversation going. Then be honest and tell her how your feeling. She probably is trying to catch up with friends and colleagues and doesn't realize how much you have missed her. Good luck..

You're sister probably feels weird just like you do. Maybe you should bring up an old memory of you two and see how she reacts. I'm sure she will laugh and you guys will have a good time. Maybe you should even talk about it with her.
